Microsoft created the X-Bite, a custom Xbox Series X console designed to look like an alligator with the console inside its body, as part of its promotional efforts for Grand Theft Auto 6. Sony holds the marketing rights for GTA 6, limiting how Microsoft can advertise the game on Xbox.
The console is approximately five feet long and features the Nexus/Guide button illuminated through the alligator's skin. The winner also receives a custom Xbox controller with simulated bite marks. John Nolan Studio, which worked on The Witcher and Jurassic World Dominion, designed the X-Bite. Microsoft stated that no actual alligators were used or harmed, and estimated the console's value at $800.
Xbox marketing boss Josh Munsee described the system as having "pure Miami vibes," referencing GTA 6's setting in Vice City, a stand-in for Miami. Microsoft's announcement stated the winner could play "some of the biggest games of the year" using it.
The sweepstakes runs through November 10. Players can enter by following Xbox on X, Instagram, or TikTok, reposting the sweepstakes post, and adding #XbiteSweepstakes to their repost. A random draw will select the winner, who has 48 hours to respond.
According to Sensor Tower, GTA 6 has sold approximately 2 million copies on Xbox Series X|S compared to 5.75 million on PS5. GTA 6 launches on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
