Nagoshi Studio has been dissolved by shareholders' resolution, ending development on Gang of Dragon before the game's release. The studio, founded four years ago by Like a Dragon creator Ryu Nagoshi, announced Gang of Dragon at last year's Game Awards. The game featured realistic visuals, combat, and exploration set in Kabukicho, along with new elements including gunplay and car chases. Actor Ma Dong-seok was attached to the project.
NetEase, the studio's primary funding source, announced in March it would withdraw support in May due to costs reaching approximately seven billion yen. Nagoshi Studio failed to secure alternative funding before the closure took effect.
