EA shut down BioWare last month, canceling Mass Effect 5 in the process. A documentary about the studio will arrive in 2027 on Canada's Super Channel, helmed by Shane Fennessey and Adam Scorgie.
The project, titled Massive Effect: The BioWare Story, will trace BioWare's history from its 1995 founding through its closure. Filming began two years ago. Co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk will appear alongside longtime developers Mark Darrah, David Gaider, Drew Karpyshyn, Aaryn Flynn, Mac Walters, Trent Oster, James Ohlen, and Caroline Livingstone. Voice actor Jennifer Hale and Casey Hudson are also set to appear.
Muzyka and Zeschuk said in a statement: "When the production team asked for our blessing to tell the BioWare story, we were honored and deeply moved. BioWare was never just about the logo or the building. It was about the stories brought to life by the amazing people on our dev teams, and the fans who defended those worlds, championed them and carried them forward."
