Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel in a teaser during a Todd Howard video celebrating Bethesda Game Studios' 40th anniversary. The teaser showed an elder scroll buried in sand, followed by the game's title in a fancy logo font.

A quote attributed to moth priest Yazar appeared in the teaser. "The scroll offered only a shimmer, a veil thinly lifted to my eyes. A future lost. A victory undone. Sands of time scattered by fate." Yazar is referred to as a moth priest in service of High Queen Iradne of Hammerfell, pointing to the game's setting. Sentinel is both a kingdom and city in the Redguards' province of Hammerfell.

This marks the first new material for The Elder Scrolls 6 since a 2018 teaser. The revelation comes as Microsoft, Bethesda's parent company, continues mass layoffs across its studios.
