Frostpunk 2 will receive a new DLC called The Surge on December 14. The expansion sends players to a mysterious valley in the UK where they discover a relic tied to electricity that hints at Nikola Tesla. Various factions clash over how to use this power source, and players must uncover secrets hidden within the valley's caves and ruins.

The DLC introduces a new scenario set in an unexplored region. Players can harvest the Great Storm into stored resources and search for hidden treasures. The DLC is available to wishlist on Steam.
