Nintendo Entertainment Planning & Development Production Group No. 3 is leading development of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for Switch 2, according to Nintendo's Ask the Developer feature. The team includes longtime Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma and several EPD No. 3 members. This is the same group behind mainline Zelda games.
Fans had speculated that Grezzo or Monolith Soft might lead the project. Grezzo developed the 3DS remakes of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, plus the Switch remake of Link's Awakening. Grezzo also co-developed Echoes of Wisdom with EPD No. 3. Monolith Soft, a Nintendo subsidiary known for the Xenoblade games, has supported recent Zelda titles including Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom.
The first two parts of Nintendo's Ask the Developer feature do not mention either Grezzo or Monolith Soft. Parts 3 and 4 will publish on November 3. Both studios could still be involved as support studios. The game launches November 5.
