Phantom Blade Zero peaked at 723,876 concurrent players on Steam just hours after launch, marking a strong debut for the soulslike action game from S-Game. The game had sold an estimated 1 million units before release, generating $43 million in revenue according to Alinea Analytics.
The regional breakdown showed concentration in Asian markets. China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong accounted for 62.5% of prelaunch sales, and on Steam those regions represent 75.9% of copies sold versus 24.9% on PS5, analyst Rhys Elliott reported.
Creative director Soulframe Liang thanked players and the studio in a launch-day letter. "This is a game of immense scale, made with all the passion in our hearts. It is a gift from a small group of gamers who just happen to be developers, to every gamer who shares our love for gaming," Liang wrote.
The launch numbers trail Black Myth: Wukong, which sold 10 million units in three days. Elliott placed Phantom Blade Zero in the top 40 games of 2026 by revenue. The game combines wuxia-inspired combat set in Chinese folklore with fight choreography by Donnie Yen and is available on PC and PS5.
