S-Game's Phantom Blade Zero sold over four million copies within 72 hours of launch. The action RPG had topped three million wishlists across PS5 and PC in September and reportedly sold close to one million copies before launch across all storefronts.

On Steam, Phantom Blade Zero peaked at 833,921 concurrent players and became the 14th highest-played title in the platform's history. The game trails Game Science's Black Myth: Wukong, which sold ten million copies in its first four days.

The outlet gave Phantom Blade Zero a 9, praising its combat system and top-notch presentation. Combat starts slowly but ramps up after the opening hours with weapon selection and boss fights. Exploration expands significantly in later regions with side quests and hidden bosses.
