Dan Greenawalt, studio head of Turn 10 Studios and co-creator of Forza Motorsport, is retiring from Microsoft after nearly 27 years. An internal memo from Trevor Williams of Playground Games confirmed the decision. Greenawalt will remain as a temporary adviser during the transition.

Microsoft announced in September a plan to merge Turn 10 and Playground Games, the two Forza studios, into a single entity. That same restructure merges Obsidian into Bethesda, hands Halo to Activision, and results in 268 employee layoffs. Turn 10 has served as a support studio for Playground's Forza Horizon since the 2023 reboot of Forza Motorsport.
