Final Fantasy 14's next expansion, Evercold, launches 23rd February 2027. Producer and director Naoki Yoshida announced the expansion's second new job, zephyr, a physical ranged DPS that wields a crossbow and fights alongside an avian familiar called Nephele. Zephyr joins Bastion, the greatshield tank revealed earlier this year at Fan Festival Berlin.
Pre-orders open Wednesday 4th November at 9am GMT. Players who pre-order receive early access, a Wind-Up Köttr minion, and Halone's Earring, which boosts EXP from defeating enemies by 30 percent. The in-game items arrive immediately upon pre-order.
Square Enix offers a physical Collector's Box containing art by Yoshitaka Amano, a Warrior of Light reaper figure, an Ethos metal keychain, a Köttr plush, and a Tapestry of the Fourth. The box does not include the game or in-game items. A limited Collector's Bundle pairs the box with a Digital Collector's Edition code for Windows or Mac. Players on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and Steam can purchase the box separately and pre-order the Digital Collector's Edition on its own. The digital edition adds a Valhallar Odin mount, an Entreat Crystal emote, and a Crystal Skyltborg weapon for Bastion.
The keynote also revealed a new Fierce raid difficulty between Normal and Savage, a new Evangelion: Ghosts of Desire alliance raid crossover with tougher eight-player battles, and new Tetsuya Nomura artwork for Beyond the Lifestream, a raid series crossover with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Evercold includes Evolved Combat Mode, Seasons for item rewards, and expanded character creation with Character Action Skins. Patch 8.1 will add expanded housing, PvP updates, and a revamped companion chocobo system.
Final Fantasy 14 has passed 35 million registered accounts. The game is now available on Switch 2.
