PS Plus members can now play a one-hour trial of 007 First Light. IO Interactive announced the free demo on X on Tuesday. The trial will likely begin with the game's opening action sequence and training section, where Bond learns spy tradecraft through in-universe instruction rather than traditional tutorial menus.
First Light's tutorial stands apart from typical game tutorials by embedding lessons into narrative moments. Players learn mechanics alongside Bond's training, moving through car races, fistfights, and mock infiltration missions. The sequence avoids pop-up menus that clutter many game tutorials.
007 First Light launched in May and sold 4 million copies by August, making it one of 2026's best-selling games so far. Amazon Game Studios boss Jeff Gattis offered conflicting statements about future sequels. He said Amazon and MGM would handle next Bond games rather than IO Interactive, but later clarified that Amazon Games would "probably want IOI developing it" given the first game's success.
IO Interactive continues supporting First Light with free DLC that includes a new mission, New Game Plus, and time trials.
