Rockstar Games moved the physical retail release of Grand Theft Auto 6 two days earlier to November 10, down from November 12. The company also accelerated preloading for both digital and code-in-a-box versions to November 10. However, the game remains unplayable until November 19, when it launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Players can purchase physical copies on November 10 but cannot access the game until its official launch date.
Rockstar provided no explanation for the changes and did not respond to GameSpot's request for comment. The $100 Ultimate Edition will not be sold in retail stores. The US will see a non-simultaneous launch, meaning American players will be among the last globally to access the game. GTA 6 launches as a single-player experience with no multiplayer component at launch.
