Dune: Awakening is getting a free expansion called Blood and Ice in December. The expansion adds a new survival map called the Polar Sink, which replaces desert survival challenges with cold-weather ones. Players must stay warm, upgrade equipment, and gather new resources to survive.

The Polar Sink contains two biomes: the tundra and the ice cap. Ice harvested from the ice cap can cool base equipment and speed up production. The expansion offers about 35 hours of new progression, including new vehicle modules, augments, and specialization traits. A new cosmetic store will sell outfits, vehicle variants, and base customization options.

Funcom is also launching an offline mode this November, allowing players to run the game without an internet connection. Character copying from multiplayer servers to single-player will arrive in January, along with full cross-play support.
