Ubisoft confirmed it has no Assassin's Creed remakes currently in active development. The company said its teams are focused instead on new chapters of the franchise with new settings and stories. Ubisoft will still explore opportunities to bring older titles back, but no remake projects are moving forward at this time.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, which sold well, was the most recent remake. A final major update for Black Flag Resynced adds New Game Plus, Nightmare Mode, new rewards, finishers, trinkets, and customization options.
Two new Assassin's Creed titles are in development. Codename Hexe, described as a darker Assassin's Creed experience, will receive an update in 2027. Codename Invictus is a multiplayer Assassin's Creed game that recently had hundreds of players test an early prototype. Ubisoft said player feedback indicated the team should add more elements that define Assassin's Creed to the multiplayer foundations, and the project is evolving in response.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla receives New Game Plus on November 5. The update adds an optional progression mode where Gear, Runes, and Masteries affect overall power ranking. Players can earn new gear and a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin's Creed Shadows, plus a new Mithril resource and a Divine gear upgrade tier.
The announcement comes as Ubisoft undergoes restructuring, with canceled games, studio closures, and layoffs affecting the company.
