Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced received its final major update today. Ubisoft stated that only quality-of-life updates will follow going forward.
The update introduces new game plus, allowing players to replay the campaign up to five times with increasing difficulty levels. Progression carries over, including tools, weapons, Jackdaw upgrades, outfits, hideout progression, and codex items.
A new nightmare difficulty mode launches alongside new game plus. In this mode, enemies react faster, hit harder, and punish hesitation. Parrying timing is reduced, white glints disappear from enemy attacks, and one-shot kill safety is disabled. On stealth missions, deduction time decreases and enemies detect faster movement.
The update also adds community chests scattered throughout the game with community-requested rewards. Ubisoft brought back takedown animations from the original Assassin's Creed, including hidden blade, unarmed, single sword, and gunblade takedowns. New cosmetics and bug fixes round out the patch.
The update arrives the same month Ubisoft laid off 70 workers at Ubisoft Singapore, the lead developer on Black Flag Resynced.
