CD Projekt Red releases Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5 tomorrow, October 22nd, alongside the second season of Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime. The patch includes Clampdown, a prequel quest tied to Edgerunners 2 that rewards gear from the show, plus a new radio station with tracks from both anime seasons.

A separate quest called Welcome to Paradise tasks players with learning Night City's history through projected lectures from the city's founder Richard Night and solving a mystery.

The update adds a new perk called Double Trouble that enables dual wielding of power handguns and revolvers only. CD Projekt Red's Pawel Sasko explained the restriction prevents balance issues, noting that dual wielding other weapon types would offer excessive damage without substantial developer effort to rebalance.

Hand cyberware now supports visual customization through five new vendors called glamdocs. These ripperdocs specialize in alternative appearances for cyberware like gorilla arms and projectile launchers, offering 40 total cosmetic variants themed after Night City corporations and gangs. Players can also customize cyberware colors, including mantis blade appearances.

Cross-platform modding support arrives with the update, making console modding more accessible than before.
