Rockstar Games employees will vote on whether to unionize between November 12 and November 26. The vote could create the largest video game workers union in history. Rockstar employs over 4,700 people, exceeding the membership of existing game industry unions. The largest current U.S. game workers union is Activision's Quality Assurance United-CWA, which represents 600 QA workers. ZeniMax Workers United represents 300 QA workers. The Independent Workers' Union of Great Britain represents over 2,000 members across more than 80 studios.

The Rockstar Game Workers Union is seeking formal recognition to negotiate employee-related matters. The vote window coincides with GTA 6's November 19 release date. On the same day, a court will rule on a case brought by the IWGB Game Workers Union challenging Rockstar's firing of 31 employees. The IWGB claims the company fired the workers unfairly and attempted union busting. Rockstar attributed the firings to liability for GTA 6 leaks.

Jennifer Kolbe, Rockstar's head of publishing, stated: "We go where the team goes. So if they want a union, they will have a union."
