Gag Order is a co-op horror shooter where players take on the role of Guardian Unit members responding to a distress signal at a research complex. Upon arrival, players must confront nightmare-inducing cephalopod creatures using firearms.
The game splits encounters into two phases. During the first phase, the creatures appear invincible, though guns can fend them off. The second phase shifts to a "fast paced team-bossight" where players attempt to actually kill the creatures.
Gag Order draws inspiration from 2000s shooters with contemporary mechanical sensibilities. The game incorporates SCP-style vibes and surreal elements, including crows inhabiting an abandoned office building. The atmosphere is described as hostile rather than friendly, placing it in a similar lineage to Lethal Company.
The game is scheduled to release by the end of 2026 and is available to wishlist on Steam.
