A Baldur's Gate 3 custom campaign mod called Forsaken has released its first act. Created by modder SquallyDaBeanz, who previously released the Act Two Expansion mod in September, Forsaken transplants a World of Warcraft storyline into Larian's RPG.
Players control one of the Forsaken, an undead character recently freed from servitude to the Lich King. The campaign tasks them with reclaiming the kingdom of Lordaeron alongside other liberated undead. The setting draws from World of Warcraft's Tirisfal Glades region, and SquallyDaBeanz deliberately disconnected the mod from Baldur's Gate's D&D universe to emulate WOW's design philosophy.
The opening act spans levels 1-5 and contains more than 20 quests across a map designed to feel expansive like World of Warcraft. Players explore towns, settlements, and dungeons with a party of three pre-built companions: Darnell the fighter, Isabella the mage, and Duesten the cleric. SquallyDaBeanz noted these companions are "temporary" and that "a complete overhaul is in the works but I chose to put it off for a future update."
The current version emphasizes combat and follows a linear structure compared to vanilla BG3. Future updates planned for the first act include more quests, class dialogue, skill checks, items, lore books, idle animations, and cutscenes for NPCs. No release date has been provided for the second act.
The mod is available through Nexus Mods and requires a new game to start.
