The Virtual Boy launched in 1995 as Nintendo's experimental foray into 3D gaming with stereoscopic visuals. The system failed to gain traction due to its high price, limited game library, and player complaints about eye strain and headaches. Nintendo discontinued it after just two years, making it one of the company's most infamous hardware missteps. Roughly 770,000 units sold worldwide, far below expectations.
These two titles spent three decades in the vault. D-Hopper and Zero Racers never released on any platform, making their arrival on Switch Online a rare opportunity for players to experience Virtual Boy games that never officially existed in any form.
